BLASPHEMY

Blasphemy is the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence for a religious deity, irreverence towards religious or holy persons or things, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable.
In my own words and opinion (the one I'm very much entitled to) is that the international criminal court popularly known by its acronym - ICC is currently busy practicing blasphemy with Madam Fatou Bensouda the prosecutor of the Kenyan principles' cases that were handed over to them with the 2008 post-election violence; is the flag bearer. The ICC has been accused by many, including the African Union, for primarily targeting people from Africa; to date, most of the ICC's cases are from African countries.
To date, the Prosecutor has opened investigations into eight situations in Africa: the Democratic Republic of the Congo; Uganda; the Central African Republic; Darfur, Sudan; the Republic of Kenya; the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya; the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and Mali.
Where is she from first and foremost?! Who died and made her queen?! Kenya has suffered from one tragedy to another since the inauguration of the new president and only God knows why. There are abnormal forces against them working to prove they are unfit or otherwise which isn't my business...YET! Any which way though Kenyans are even currently still mourning their beloved brothers and sisters plus parents and many other relatives from the very recent westgate shopping mall attack. They are still working on coming to terms with it psychologically apart from the physical injuries because even the ones that weren't affected or their relatives are traumatized. It was horrific and grotesque not forgetting blood curdling especially when the people hurt, injured, affected or deceased didn't deserve it. It has even been deduced as a terrorist attack that was to send a message to the entire world not just Kenya. With Kenya being a metropolitan city of the east and central part of Africa it is beyond any shadow of doubt that it is home to many foreigners. The location of the westgate mall itself is close to many high commissions and embassies with banks and quality eateries and international designer retail boutiques and shops it was definitely a hub of activity and center piece of most residential and visiting foreigners.
Lives were lost. Lives of people we loved and cherished. Countries like Ghana, America, Britain, among st others lost their citizens. Kenya was attacked when both principles were distracted and taken away by the same ICC that have no iota of compassion and if they claim they do they better start showing us actions and quit only doing verbally as if that's supposed to help us to lay our loved ones in peace ( Eternal peace hopefully) or mentally get us through the trauma because memories are meant to last forever (or almost) If they don't have its OK by the way but they should at least 'pretend' to. Not that I'm promoting hypocrisy but honestly its only HUMANE. They should be more skilled in the 'publicity stunt' department. Especially since they are already pulling one by acting as if they've always been in such a 'hurry' in solving these cases. Its the common 'human courtesy' that we all give each other consciously but mostly subconsciously! The ICC was put in place as a permanent tribunal to prosecute individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes,   but they can't show a little compassion or reverence for that same humanity?! Or did the kenyans turn into aliens after the westgate shopping mall attack and I don't know?! Especially since I'm one of them?!
The deputy or vice president Mr. William Ruto's plea to postpone his trial as he handles the aftermath of the westgate shopping mall terrorist attack has been refuted because?! Is it now that the ICC will act as if its in a hurry?! So while its in such a hurry for 'justice' how many solved cases does it have under its belt?! How many cases have been reported to them and how many have they actually acted on?! The fact is: the Court has received complaints about alleged crimes in at least 139 countries, but, currently, the Prosecutor of the Court has opened investigations into eight situations in Africa: the Democratic Republic of the Congo; Uganda; the Central African Republic; Darfur, Sudan; the Republic of Kenya; the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya; the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and Mali. So why the abnormal thirst for recognition with the  African countries?! Do they really believe Africans don't know how or what goes on? So who's bringing the culprits of the other 131 countries to justice?! Or do they need more man power?! Should their financial sponsors be addressed about increasing their funds so as to cater for the man power increase so that the other 131 countries especially the ones not in Africa can also be justified? The ICC has been prone to attacks on their integrity and impartiality both of the strongest traits they need but it can't grab any opportunity to prove the rest of us wrong. The ICC has been accused of bias and even as being a tool of Western imperialism, only punishing leaders from small, weak nations while ignoring crimes committed by richer and more powerful nations.
How many culprits have they put behind bars and saved the same 'humanity' they claim they care about so much?! Isn't Omar al-Bashir the president of Sudan being about his business even after the ICC declared they have an arrest warrant out for him?! So the Kenyan fourth 'diplomatic' president - elect and his deputy and being pulled right, left and center because they agreed to co-operate?! What's that supposed to teach the world about 'co-operation'? Because its being made very evident how BOGUS it is.
There's absolutely no iota of consideration or leniency being practiced especially since Kenya is a sovereign state and even a member of the United Nations charter. When every state's number one priority is national security and Kenya's has been breached and most likely shattered. Shouldn't the principles be given time to re-build or even delegate certain officials who would supervise the re-building in their absence? The president declared a three day mourning period and hold national prayers for the victims after that. So when is that supposed to happen? Don't all states do well when their leaders are with them in times of crisis? Or national tragedies? Its the state leaders that show the citizens that someone cares. That no matter how insignificant or poor or destitute someone is...someone out there, someone very busy and very powerful that couldn't care less for their loss or afflications...could actually care and even pray with them.
Taking away one or both of the Kenyan principles will create instability both socially and politically. Kenyans need time to heal if nothing else especially with their ever surpportive and willing leaders. Taking the leaders away will only be adding salt to injury.

BURNING PLASTIC

]
It is very unfortunate that in this 'digital era' we are stuck with yet another stigma affecting our societies far and yonder. Like everything else that shouldn't be taken too far or allow ourselves to get too indulged and end up losing ourselves in whatever fashion trend, way of life or any other thing that we believe falls under the recent popular terminology known as 'SWAG'...they certainly have! To the extent of unbridled SHAME.
First and foremost what is plastic? On a very candid note...plastic is RUBBISH. Plastic is waste that affects our soil for the agriculturists, botanists, farmers and landscapers, hygiene for our health and the health of our children and even animals be it farm animals and pets plus plastic in form of plastic bags, plastic bottles, plates, cups etc are an eyesore when discarded recklessly wherever and however. Now imagine it being burnt to get rid of it!

Plastic doesnt decompose like most products. Plastic has the annoying ability to maintain its shape or form (of whatever kind) for a very long time. The best way to get rid of it is by burning it!

Though it doesn't burn as easily as we'd like to believe or had assumed. It melts and bubbles. It burns eventually but you have to keep heating it. Plastic has an unbearable stench when burning especially in large quantities.

And it has to be a large quantity to be burnt so that the burning resources are used properly and effectively. Even in recycling it. It has 2 be burnt so that it can be shaped or re-shaped into something else. Even the people that go through that rigorous activity have protective gear that protects them from the 'stench'. Now isn't that a whole lot of work?!?
Now that we know that plastic was never meant to be used forever in whatever shape or form you see it or acquire it in. Infact, most of its uses are temporary e.g plastic plates, cups, bottles but it stays on forever which I find very disturbing honestly and finally brings me to the heart of the matter. Our societies are currently under the 'burning plastic' slavery era. I'm calling it 'era' in the hope that it will go away soon or the culprits involved will be delivered soonest! This slavery or plague has been brought about by the breakthroughs made in science,innovation....unfortunately. This is actually very unfortunate because the same science breakthroughs have saved lives, enhanced it and sustained life as we know it.
My own definition of 'plastic' is more related to the word 'FAKE' when used 'adjectively' and sadly, this is the bondage that the majority of people in our societies have succumbed to. Namely; cosmetic surgery where we go get face lifts when our skin starts responding to gravity or breast implants to make them bigger for those less endowed, cosmetics themselves like the temporary eyelashes, acrylic nails (nail extensions), chopping off all what you have as eyebrows

and replacing them with tattoos or

drawing them ourselves with certain 'scary' shapes or angles. Also adding hair extensions like weaves which are both synthetic and human hair especially in the latest craze of labels like

'Brazilian,

Peruvian,

Mongolian and even Indian'. All these aren't exactly 'fake'. They are actually more of 'ENHANCEMENTS' and I would be a fool  if I had an issue with any girl or woman using the above 'enhancements'. I also use them occasionally myself because after all is said and done they actually are helpful and some are even really good investments. The leeward side of the 'enhancements' is the issue though.

The cosmetic enhancements aren't supposed to define you,me or us! But unfortunately we've given them that privileged of being able to. They are simply to boost your self esteem, make you more comfortable or confident. A very good and explicit example are human hair quality weaves known as Brazilian,Indian,Peruvian etc...they've gained massive popularity on the African continent because honestly majority of the female population has unmanageable thick hair or very thin and short hair. So they give us an illusion of having 22" beautiful thick manageable hair! And I cannot even try disputing that. But now the 'leeward' side or in layman's language...the dark or bad and unhealthy side is we get caught up in the whirlwind of these cosmetic enhancements and become an 'enhancement' of them or someone else! We lose ourselves and even our way of life, our accent and speech changes. Some even forget the national language 'Swahili' miraculously and have never even left the country! Or even the east African community (EAC) for that matter! Or you just go visit Europe or the U.S.A for a week and you have to speak like someone's blocking your air passage or pinching your nose! How is that supposed to make you any better than a 'phony' human being? Isn't that hypocrisy onto of being 'fake'?!  We even end up spending more than we earn or have in resources just to keep up appearances! Its never that necessary ladies!
I'm not going to stand in the way of a girl finding what she needs in the cosmetic enhancements department. The issue only arises when we become the enhancements! Be a first rate or grade A+ version of yourself. Enhance what you need to,by all means just don't become delusional and start acting out a movie in your head instead of enjoying the life God has blessed you with. You were made the way you were for a reason. You were also born in Africa or wherever else on the planet you ended up in for a reason. OWN it! Because I'm sure no one has ever and will ever be able to write God an application or 'proposal' of which continent, country or family to end up in. So why not own it?! Why not thank God you dint end up in a worse place?! Because honestly there are worse places out there if you know your geography and you are abreast with current global issues, catastrophes and tragedies you'll totally get my chagrin! We are seriously suffering from the 'burning plastic' fumes. Culprits please save us.

We watch too many movies, commercials and music videos then end up acting out the characters and whatever lives depicted as if they actually live like what the character has painted them out to be. Most of them usually can't wait to go home and get rid of all the cakes of make up heaped on them.

or characters in a low budget horror movie!

Then end up suffering from acne, eczema and allergies form the products and their constant use that even our facial pores have no room to breathe! This really makes me wonder what type of slavery is this that being free from it would probably make many of us remain indoors forever. We've totally thrown out all meaning of loving ourselves. Its like one of those relationships where you just totally lose yourself in it. Forgetting what you even looked like before the bondage.
So of course my piece of unsolicited advice is:

If you have to do it or insist on permanently having eyelashes as long as feathers then do it right!

If your going to add a weave then please have the courtesy of finding the one that would best suit the shape of your face instead of putting the rest of us through a very long low budget horror movie! And last but not least my sisters.....those eyebrows!!!!!

If you can't find anything better to do with them please let them be as God intended!! Find a small brush and just brush them down to keep them neat! Promoting confusion with a permanently raised eyebrow, giving the Nike logo competition and giving some of us mild heart attacks with some other incredulous shapes should be a crime punishable by a country's valid constitutional laws.

In fact the Nike logo is patented so you'd be in trouble for theft and violation of the patent terms and conditions.
They are just 'enhancements' and they were never meant to be PERMANENT. You bought them so you OWN them but some of us have fallen victim to illusions we see them give the characters on television and forget we are living in the REAL world. Most of us have lost our sense of self. We let them OWN us. We've given them leeway to literally interfere with our way of life and even our relationships with our peers, spouses, colleagues and some go as far as interfering with our families....
Its NEVER EVER that serious or necessary...

APPRECIATION; THE VIRTUE WE SHOULD ALL ADOPT.

Appreciation is slowly phasing out from its initial incorporation in our day to day lives. Appreciation has several meanings or how and when it should be used for the receiver to understand that he/she is being appreciated. Appreciation very simply means GRATITUDE. Some of the scenarios where its used are below;
1. thanks or gratitude

2. assessment of the true worth or value of persons or things

3. perceptive recognition of qualities, as in art

4. an increase in value, as of goods or property

5. a written review of a book, etc., esp when favourable
Appreciation nowadays is basically confused for 'recognition'. Celebrities get 'appreciated' and I use the word very loosely when they get awards, athletes get medal and trophies, campuses and other educational institutions have the dean's lists, couples exchange gifts and while family also just go through the motions.
Being appreciated makes everybody feel good and loved. It boosts our self esteem. It makes us work harder at our various endeavors so as not to let the people who saw and showed us appreciation down. It makes us know that all we strive to achieve isn't in vain. We are so caught up with our careers, studies, children and all other endeavors to remember the people in our lives who've supported us,who picked us up when we were down, who were patient and tolerant of our bad days or mood swings and those that know how horrible we can get but still love us and stand by us and even fight for us when someone tries to bring us down.
Appreciation appears to be losing the fight to 'recognition' in this day and age. Appreciating the little things like; the everyday cooking we do for our children and spouses that's believed to be mandatory, appreciating that our parents worked hard for the lives we have and some even hate their jobs but still stick it out for us. Even our teachers and lecturers deserve a little bit of appreciation if not much. Their salaries are pathetic yet they stick it out to make us get that education we sometimes really hate and consider a punishment at times. Another victim of appreciation are our spouses; the fact that your spouse spoils you with beautiful trinkets or the latest gadgets and latest designer label clothes and shoes...I need to be clear that its not written anywhere in any laws of any constitution or a verse in the Bible or part of the ten commandments that they should! So stop competing with your 'guys', girlfriends or fr enemies and sometimes even neighbors while you put your spouse through MISERY when they don't deserve it. When all your 'friends' probably sneer, roll their eyes and even hiss or jeer when your not listening or seeing.
Man in the form of Adam as the Bible clearly states was given an obligation to take care, provide and protect his family. But it doesn't mean we shouldn't show him appreciation because its his obligation. Parents are supposed to provide, protect and teach their children beliefs, religion, the wrong and the right to shape us into better people but we shouldn't take them for granted either. They struggle! For those with parents that stuck by them that is! The more cowardly ones choose the easy way out and disappear while others choose to be dormant but I believe their unbecoming and selfishness should be appreciated because they still affect the decisions we make and how we handle situations because in some way we always want to be better people than our runaway parents and that I believe our unborn children deserve.
Let's put away all the fancy things that technology has made possible for us to have, the fancy designer labels, the outrageously expensive beautiful cars and hair extension....after you have all that are you happy?! You'll look Kemp and proper and in most cases even more attractive as you smell heavenly as well....but who appreciates your God given beauty without the enhancements who appreciates you as a human being with all your 'baggage'?? Who appreciates who you really are away from the 'expensive packaging'? Who stands by you completely even when the rest of the world ridicules you and finds you worthless? Who's always home waiting for you; probably worried when its late and your phone's off?! Who takes care of you throughout when you fall sick and are hospitalized?
Hmmm....its made me think as well. Those are the people we need to appreciate. But sadly, for the fact that we are human and all we do is take rather than give most of the time is...they end up being taken for granted and appreciated least of all. They won't be around forever, don't cry with regret when they pass because you were selfish and didn't even acknowledge how much they gave you or gave up for you. Call them now, text them now or even go them today and let them know you've noticed and that you appreciate them and the value they add to your life no matter how small. And let's never forget...its those little things...'Appreciation' topping the list.

THE OUTCRY!

For centuries both women and girls have been referred to as the weaker sex (gender wise) yet they are the ones most maltreated, victimized and afflicted with the world's catastrophe's and tragedies even with the men who are supposed to be 'stronger' sex thus their protectors. Why aren't they protected? Why aren't they strengthened to take better care of themselves when the need arises? Why aren't they elevated from their problems and treated as fragile since they are known as the 'weaker sex'? We treat newborns with utmost care and are at their beck and call because we know they are weak and fragile. So why aren't women and girls given the same care since they are so weak? Instead they are beaten up and battered (in cases of domestic violence), they are raped, they are sent off to be wives at only 13yrs of age and even made mothers at the same age approximately. How is that 13yr old supposed to be a mother when she barely even knows how to wash herself? I can't say cook or lay the bed because I had that bit covered myself at that age thanks to my phenomenal mother. Who did it to empower and banish ignorance in that dept as such is the fate of many girls I have sadly just realized. How is a girl who herself needs guidance, constant instructions and reminders supposed to take care of a man triple her age and an entire household? Has the man marrying her have any knowledge on treating her any different from a grown adult and experienced woman?! Of course not!
Personally, find  early marriages abominable! But I know better than to get into any battles physically or exchange hostile words with the cultures that practice this. I've witnessed a couple of NGOs and individuals fighting such battles head on and most times losing when the tribes or cultures and even religions practicing this become even more hostile. Because whether we like it or not this is a common practice in some cultures and more so, African ones. For others it borders on religious beliefs and practices. Which gives them their sense of belonging. That is one thing that to every man, woman or child on the planet is held dear and with reverence.
It being a way of life for some cultures and religions makes it a much harder fight because as human beings we automatically seek a sense of belonging. We automatically seek some sort of association that sets apart from being just any Tom, Dick and Harry. Even with you (for example) if you are always on your computer 24/7. I won't storm into your house, hold a gun to your head and force you to stop! I'll 'explain' to you why you shouldn't be on your computer all day everyday.
Education is our weapon. Let us educate the old men that insist on marrying these babies that they can wait a little longer as he's taught on how to be with a really young girl. Let the young also learn how to take care of a household and him from that age. Let her go to sch where she can learn many other productive ways of even being a hostess to his visitors and relatives when the need arises and what other place is there to learn this from than her mother or aunties or grandmother? Who else would ever really have her best interests at heart?!
I'm choosing to practice DIPLOMACY as my weapon and that comes with creating an illusion of a win-win situation for both parties in this scenario. This will only be achieved if both parties are educated thus banishing ignorance. If I use force or rebuke and condemn like everyone else...I'll fail because I'll be met with hostility. This stigma needs to end and clearly 'force' has failed. The men believe its their right and anyone who believes something so strongly is usually quite dangerous when met with objection or ridicule. Its like telling Christians their belief in Jesus is foolish. What type of war would you have started?! Wouldn't the Christians just want to crucify you for such blasphemy?!
Knowledge is indeed power. It eliminates ignorance and promotes understanding which would later lead to patience for the girl to be nurtured and educated. As much as educational institutions usually appear as money making schemes and I as a student finds it a punishment most of the time; I have to admit I wouldn't even be able to write this without it.
Let's give credit where its due and finally start the actual implementation of our education universally especially where common sense is concerned and the nutty gritty bits of life that are so often overlooked because we are too busy being concerned with our 'ghost' slavery to technology, power, fashion, politics, money etc.

DESPICABLE US!

It is with great insight and experience in the mediocrity of actualization as people character wise especially by my fellow women and girls that has led me to finally speak up to the masses. It is a very sad world that we the women are currently stuck living! After all the feminism fights we seem to be dragging our own image and our own sisters and way of life in the mud. There is nothing sexy about playing the holier than thou or playing victim because once you are busy doing that you are shamelessly putting to shame all the women's emancipation fights and independence and empowerment fights the courageous women that stood up n fought for those reasons! It wasn't so you could start up a storm and run around crying wolf and playing victim instead of standing still, face the consequences of your actions and apologize if need be! Don't go around telling the world of how you were done so wrong and you were just out of the blue for absolutely no good reason!! That's DESPICABLE!
Love yourself enough to accept when you make a mistake and work towards making yourself a better person! Playing victim and counting other people's mistakes doesn't make you any better and you can only hide under that for so long. Sooner or later your malice, manipulation, denial and irresponsibility will catch up with you because they are in conjunction with karma. Where she serves you exactly what you deserve she only makes it worse when she let's the people victimized with your 'wolf cry' watch! Aren't we as the 'weaker' sex already victimized enough worldwide for us to victimize and sabotage one another?!?
No one is perfect! God forbid I ever claim that about me or any other person! Accepting and loving ourselves within first and being willing to change on what needs changing or improving to become better is what's perfect! Once you accept yourself unconditionally; your body, your pain, your weaknesses....no one can take that away from you. No one can even use it against and it harms you like they'd hoped or anticipated. Thus leaving you a winner which automatically makes you STRONGER. None of us are anyone's push overs or doormats.
Most of us get intimidated by gigantic personalities or are left in awe after meeting them because we think the person must have it all! We believe her life is perfect for her to have it. Most amazingly its usually the latter. Those are women who've been through it all. The good, the bad and the ugly or most of it but still hold their heads up high and accept that in life shit actually happens and accept to live without the apologies they know they are entitled to. Its not about how hard we fall or how bad we fail or how bad n unhappy we are...its how we work with that downhill phase. How we dust ourselves off and climb back uphill. The amazing part is its never easy! Those who do it are heroines!
Let's all grow up, take responsibilities for our actions and accept we can't always be kissy face and sugar coating things with each other. While in other more sensitive cases, taking advantage of situations with the less 'verbally expressive' people. In my opinion those are even the ones that are more prone to really attack you given half the chance. Because they have high tolerance levels doesn't mean its ok for you to disrespect that. Others decide to let you believe you've won because they are actual ladies and would love people to notice the difference when your head is telling you that you've won when your just displaying despicable attributes such as: unruly, hooliganism and the recently popular terminology known as 'ratchet'.
We are women and the claws will always come out. But after the claws came how is the aftermath handled?! That's the issue! If you can't see things the same way its ok! Infact it shows your not the bandwagon type and you have a mind of your own! Agree to disagree and move on to better things like discovering a cure for AIDS or Cancer, practicing philanthropy, nation building etc!
Malice, manipulation, damsel in distress, playing foul, playing victim, crying wolf and all other unorthodox, detrimental and pathetic behaviors we believe are 'cute'! When all they do is get you PITY. Who needs pity?!? Only enemies of progress!! Can we please style up ladies!! I strive on strength, independence, honesty and the ability to accept you did wrong amongst other things. We all should. Sadly, the world's gotten superficial and most of us have succumbed to it while it goes without saying that no one alive loves the smell of burning plastic yet that's exactly what we are owning upto.
